Raith Rovers have completed a significant squad rebuild with 12 new players arriving at Stark's Park during the summer 2026 transfer window. The club brought in nine permanent signings and secured three loan deals, while 15 players moved on.
Permanent arrivals bolster squad
Manager Ian Murray moved to strengthen his squad with a series of signings from rival clubs across the Scottish leagues. The permanent arrivals include defenders Jack Baird from St Johnstone, Zak Delaney from Greenock Morton, and Ross Millen from Inverness Caledonian Thistle. In midfield, the club added Kyle Turner from Partick Thistle, Charlie Telfer from Airdrieonians, and Arron Lyall from Ross County.
Up front, George Oakley and Anton Dowds both joined from Ayr United, while striker John Robertson made the step up from Lowland League side East Kilbride. The club confirmed undisclosed fees were paid for Baird and Robertson.
Loan trio add further depth
Raith Rovers also secured three loan additions to supplement their squad. Attacker Scott Tiffoney arrived from Kilmarnock, forward Calum Adamson joined from Rangers, and striker Luke Armstrong came in from Cardiff City. These temporary deals provide additional options across the forward line.
Significant player departures
The extensive rebuild saw numerous players leave the club. Key departures included forward Jack Hamilton moving to Queen's Park, midfielder Richard Chin joining Ross County for an undisclosed fee, and defender Lewis Gibson heading to Airdrieonians, also for an undisclosed sum. Experienced midfielder Shaun Byrne signed for Montrose.
Other exits saw Aidan Glavin move to Linfield, Jordan Doherty join Livingston, and Calum Hannah transfer to Kelty Hearts. Josh Mullin left for Stirling Albion, Ross Matthews moved to Australian side Bentleigh Greens, and Logan Raeside joined Civil Service Strollers.
The club also saw five loan spells come to an end, with Ewan Wilson returning to Motherwell, Paul Nsio going back to Rangers, Andrew Winter rejoining Livingston, Innes Cameron returning to Barrow, and Darragh O'Connor heading back to York City.
New signings making immediate impact
The early signs from the new-look squad are promising. Raith Rovers currently sit second in the Championship table with 13 points from six matches, just three points behind leaders Stenhousemuir. Their strong start includes four wins, one draw and a single defeat, with 11 goals scored and only three conceded.
Several summer signings have already contributed to that positive form. George Oakley scored twice in the recent 4-0 demolition of Arbroath, while John Robertson found the net in the 2-0 victory at Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Charlie Telfer provided an assist in that same match, and Calum Adamson set up two goals against Arbroath.
The team's recent form shows four wins from their last five games, putting them on a two-game winning streak ahead of their next Championship fixture away to third-placed Partick Thistle this weekend.
